Overview

Set within extensive grounds, the extremely attractive mature gardens are a mixture of wooded areas, shrubberies and a patio close to the house. A walled and gravelled area provides a sheltered parking spot near the house. Regarding the interior, quite simply put, there is a room for all purposes, from the dining and drawing room to the snug and the snooker room!

On the ground floor there is a substantial main hall off which is the sitting room with a small office and a snug with open fire leading onto an impressive snooker room. From the kitchen there is an additional TV room and utility area with a secondary hallway leading to the drawing room and fabulous dining room and a passageway to a WC and the conservatory.

Upstairs on the first floor is a king size bedroom with en suite bathroom and two further double-bedded rooms, a twin room, a family bathroom and an additional shower room with WC. A separate wing of the first floor houses a double bedroom and a shower room and, continuing up to the second floor, there is a double bedroom and twin room.

Map & Local

Set in a beautiful country location, Swordale provides the ideal base for exploring the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, being within easy travelling distance of the west coast and the islands.

The market town of Dingwall is within 10 miles and the highland capital city Inverness (20 miles) offers all the facilities you would expect from a major tourist centre.

Closer to home, Evanton itself has several tourist attractions, including the Fyrish monument, the Black Rock Gorge and the ruined church of Kiltearn lying near the river Sgitheach as it flows into the Cromarty Firth. In an area well known for its scenic beauty, there are many outdoor leisure pursuits to be enjoyed including hill walking, mountain biking, horse riding. You can even take a boat trip out in the Cromarty Firth to see the dolphins and seals up close.

There are some fine beaches along the Cromarty coast, while to the north, nearby Alness has a very attractive golf course. If golf is your passion, you will certainly want to visit the lovely wee town of Dornoch, with its championship links course and miles of stunning sands. On the way, you’ll also pass the Glenmorangie distillery, where you can take a tasting tour.

A short distance further up the A9 is romantic Dunrobin Castle and mountain bikers will enjoy the Highland Wildcat Trails at Golspie.
