Clan Cottage stands, sheltered amongst pine trees, about 100 yards from Loch Shiel and its magnificent backdrop in the crofting area of Moss, near Acharacle on the incomparable west coast.

The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsula and is under an hour’s drive from the major tourist centre of Fort William. Built around 150 years ago as the home of the local ferryman, it has since been extended and lovingly renovated to create an attractive and welcoming holiday home that is full of character.
The entrance hallway opens onto the large, well-equipped kitchen that has plenty of room for cooking and a dining area alongside that is perfect for informal breakfasts. There is also a separate dining room for more formal meals.
The spacious sitting room is light and bright due to its French doors and large windows that showcase the lovely view across the garden to beautiful Loch Shiel and Acharacle beyond. It has plenty of comfortable seating and a most unique feature fireplace with a cosy wood-burning stove.
All on one level, there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin. The master bedroom boasts a stunning, romantic four-poster bed and also has an en suite shower room. The neat twin bedroom is spacious and has extra space to play through an arch at the end. For maximum flexibility it has zip-link beds that can convert into a super king-size bed if required. There is also another shower room and a utility room that neatly houses the laundry facilities.
Outside, there is parking right by the door and a large, charming garden that is mainly laid to lawn with mature shrubs and trees. There is also a shed that provides secure storage for bikes, etc. The cottage is reached by a driveway that is shared with the neighbouring property.
This area is renowned for its beautiful coastline, superb scenery and wealth of wildlife. Fishing is available on the loch with permits obtainable at Acharacle (1 mile, with shops and hotel) and boat hire is also available locally.
Golf, hill walking and cycling are just some of the other activities to be enjoyed in the area. The Singing Sands (5.5 miles) and Ardtoe (4 miles) both offer lovely sandy beaches, with the legendary Silver Sands of Morar (31 miles) also being within an easy drive.
Just under an hour's drive away at Fort William you can golf, shop, swim at the leisure centre or even climb Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. Alternatively, you can sample the fine links course at Traigh or from Mallaig you can take the ferry across to the Isle of Skye for the day.
To the south west, you can make for Ardnamurchan Point, the westernmost point of mainland Britain, with its Stevenson Lighthouse. There is another lovely beach there at Sanna Bay. On the way, you will pass through Kilchoan, from where in summer you can catch the car ferry across to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull.

A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at an additional charge (1 large, 2 medium or 2 small). If you wish to bring any other pets please contact us and we will see what we can do.
