03-Feb-2025	The Keep DP8 (overall)	We stayed in The Ksep with our 2 dogs in the middle of January. Firstly, the property is lovely, with fantastic decor and in pristine condition. The rooms are well laid out , spacious, and with excellent views and facilities. Communication with the owner was quick and was when we couldn't find the WiFi code, which was missing from the pack. We were staying through the storms when there was an amber warning in the area and on the 2nd last day we lost all power sheikh included heating, water and electricity. We did know there was a risk od this so prepped some water and aroxked up on wood for the log fire, ams charged our Sonos for music. To our delight and surprise Tracey the owner arrived, after driving from their house which was local to our rental, through the storms, to check on us and bring us some homemade soup, candles and torches. A lovely gesture and welcome! They also offered us the ability to stay an extra night free of charge , again a lovely touch. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, with great walks around.. Inveraray is only a short journey away with some great shops and a lovely cafe.. we visited the grounds of Inverady castle, headed out to Loch Fyne & Loch Gair, and went out to the old ruined castle too.. Will defo be back, the price was also very reasonable

31-Jan-2025	The Grain Store GP9 (overall)	The Grain Store was a lovely get away and Ishy, the care taker, was an absolute delight. She watched out for our arrival (a tad late due to missed turns), and made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Overall I would truly recommend this cottage- in any season but the winter. With the £30 allotment for electricity, we had to be a bit frugal to ensure we didn’t go over the energy use. The cottage is older so it wasn’t as energy efficient as most homes. The wood burner was a great touch and helped us heat the cottage during the day. Very centralized for Peeblesshire, and lovely views just from the property itself. Just be mindful of the energy use. Also a sign at the drive would be helpful as well.
