Everything truly has been thought of here by the considerate owners who have created a bright and spacious retreat that is sure to delight each and every one of its guests. Inside, once a fire is crackling away in the wood-burning stove in the sitting room the stage is set for complete relaxation and the games room next door is where the competition can start around the pool table in the evenings.
At the heart of the house is a large dining kitchen that is very well-equipped and offers a great space to spread out into. In the attractive master double bedroom there is a lovely king-size bed and the other three beautifully presented bedrooms are nice and flexible as they can have either a super king-size bed or twin rooms depending on requirements.
Once the inside has been fully explored it is time to head out to see the delights to be found in the garden. Surely the first thing to catch the eye is the inviting hot tub which is an idyllic place to unwind after busy days spent out and about. In fact, once the soothing bubbles start doing their job it can be quite hard to leave!
The large terrace provides the opportunity to fire up the BBQ and eat outside and there is even a synthetic putting green to practice on before taking on one of St Andrews’ famous golf courses. Ample space is provided for parking and secure storage is provided for sports equipment such as golf clubs, etc.
Head into Cupar (1 mile) for supermarket shopping or a meal out and, whilst being so close to the ‘home of golf’ St Andrews (8 miles), a round of golf is an absolute must so it is fortunate that there are seven different courses to choose from.
The Old Course is considered to be the oldest course in the world and was first played on back in the early 15th century. Its Swilcan Bridge that links the 17th and 18th holes is recognisable the world over and who wouldn’t want to try it out following in the footsteps of the golfing greats?
As well as being known for its golf, St Andrews is very picturesque to walk around with its acclaimed university (where Prince William studied) and good range of interesting little shops offering every possible souvenir imaginable.
For a really special view of the town it is possible to go up the historic 11th century St Rules Tower. Once the cathedral museum has been explored the tickets also allow for the climb up the narrow spiral staircase (156 steps) to the top where the expansive outlook over the cathedral, castle and the fantastic West Sands beach makes the effort well worthwhile.
Just a 10 minute drive from the house, Bowbridge Alpacas (6 miles) offers alpaca experiences with these wonderfully charming animals. It is amazing to lead them out on a trek and even over an obstacle course followed by the chance to try needle-felting using some of their silky fleece.
