Calamura is a traditional coastal cottage with a situation that is second to none, right in the heart of the village of Findhorn with amazing views out over beautiful Findhorn Bay, just 5 miles from Forres in Morayshire.

This an incredibly characterful house with a lovely warm and welcoming feeling throughout. The wonderful views of the bay can particularly be admired from the charming sitting room that is kept cosy by an attractive open fire and is just the place to spend relaxed evenings in.
Everything is easily to hand in the well-equipped kitchen and meals can be enjoyed together in the sunny dining room.
All of the bedrooms are upstairs where there is a double room, an incredibly spacious twin room with a view of the water and a chaise longue to relax on and a second bright twin room, as well as a family bathroom which supplements the shower room downstairs.
There is a spacious garden front and back and an outdoor seating area that is the perfect place to BBQ or sit out when the weather is good. The gates open up to provide off road parking right by the house and the shoreline is literally just over the road.
It is a very short stroll to Findhorn’s gorgeous beach that is a popular spot with windsurfers and is lovely and sandy when the tide is out and still walkable on the higher, pebbly section of shore when the tide is in.
For a night off from cooking there is the choice of the Kimberley Inn that is just 5 minutes’ walk away or the Crown and Anchor Inn a few doors further on that has an excellent range of gins to sample.
Wildlife boat trips are on offer from Findhorn Marina for the chance to see dolphins, seals and lots of seabirds nesting on the cliffs. Nature enthusiasts will also enjoy Findhorn Bay Local Nature Reserve that covers the estuary where the River Findhorn flows into the sea and is home to wading birds such as curlews, oyster catchers and redshank as well as ducks, geese and even ospreys in season.
Forres (5 miles) is the place to stock up on shopping as it has two different supermarkets and it is an easy half hour train journey from there into Inverness for shopping or exploring the sights.
Those on the whisky trail are spoilt for choice in this area as there are tours and tastings to be had at Benromach Distillery (4 miles) and 5 other distilleries that are all within approximately half an hour’s drive.
Ace Adventures at Auchnagairn (13 miles) has various watersports available including white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking and paintballing for those looking for more of an adrenalin rush.
