Little Wardie is a detached house set down a quiet road in the Sutherland village of Brora, overlooking the picturesque 17th fairway of Brora Golf Course and in easy walking distance of a beautiful sandy beach.

From the bay window in the sitting room the ever-changing seascape can be admired during the day and the wood-burning stove can be stoked up for cosy evenings in front of the TV. Meals can be whipped up on the kitchen’s colourful Rayburn or there is also the choice of an electric cooker and hob.
There is a little breakfasting area in the kitchen as well as a spacious dining room/sunroom with wonderful views from its large picture windows. A utility room houses the washing facilities and useful storage for coats, etc is provided in the entrance hall.
Both of the attractive, en suite double bedrooms (one king-size) are downstairs and a narrow staircase leads up to a twin bedroom that has more great sea views, a WC and separate, tucked away en suite shower.
A grassed garden surrounds the house and private parking is in the driveway by the front door. There is direct access to the golf course straight from the cottage’s garden so it is just a short stroll away.
Brora Golf Course is a Championship Links course that was designed by James Braid with a full 18 holes to play and a bar and restaurant to stop off at after a round of two.
It is only a 5 minute walk into Brora itself where there is a small supermarket and a village shop/hub for supplies. The Royal Marine Hotel just down the road is the place to go for a meal or a relaxing drink in the bar, or there are a couple of takeaways and a chip shop to try out.
A walk along Brora’s long stretch of sandy beach is enjoyable whatever the weather. Dolphins can sometimes be spotted out in the water and seals can often be seen basking on the seashore. Take the train from Brora down to Inverness, the ‘capital of the Highlands, in just under two and a half hours for a day of shopping or sightseeing.
Bikes can be hired from Golspie (6 miles) and mountain bikers will want to try out the Highland Wildcat Trails just outside Golspie where there are challenging blue, red and black and trails to have a go at.
Forsinard Flows Nature Reserve (25 miles) sits in the heart of ‘Flow Country’ which is blanket bog that provides a unique habitat for a diverse range of birdlife such as dippers, green shanks and hen harriers. Board walks allow for further exploration of the reserve and there is also a distinctive viewing platform.
