The Beach House at Belhaven is perfectly situated with the beach at the front door and the Winterfield golf course at the back! The chalet is just 50 metres from the shore on the outskirts of Dunbar in south east Scotland.

Simply but comfortably furnished, The Beach House is kept warm and cosy by double-glazing and electric heating. There is a light and bright open plan living area with a comfortable seating area (with bed settee), neat kitchen area and handy dining area alongside.
The bedroom has beds that can be set up as either a double or two twin beds and there is a shower room that completes the indoors accommodation.
Outside, the chalet stands in a small enclosed garden, with a patio area to the rear and a verandah to the front.
There are superb views out over the sea to the Bass Rock, while in the foreground there is the 'bridge in the sea', which at high tide just sits there in the middle of the water!
Belhaven Bay is part of the John Muir Country Park and there is a coastal walk which takes the visitor into Dunbar (with all facilities, leisure pool, castle and harbours). Across the 'bridge in the sea', the surfing can be good at mid to high tide.
With Edinburgh only 30 miles away and readily accessible by train from Dunbar, the Beach House is an excellent centre from which to explore the area.
On the coast there is Dirleton Castle, with its lovely gardens and spectacular Tantallon, clinging to its clifftop perch. Also near Dirleton (15 miles) there are the prestigious championship golf courses at Muirfield and Luffness, not to mention a number of gourmet restaurants, where you can replace the pounds lost earlier in the day!
North Berwick (14 miles) is well worth a visit and perhaps a walk up Berwick Law, the conical hill which dominates the town. From North Berwick too it is possible to take a boat trip to see the nesting seabirds on the Bass Rock - where you can spend some time ashore - and Fidra Island. For keen walkers, Cockburnspath at the beginning of the Southern Upland Way is only 8 miles away.

'Another great holiday at The Beach House, this time with our new dog Buster. Lots of long walks along the beach with Buster. As always the flowers and beer were welcoming and we had all we needed for the week. I’m sure we will be back again!'
'Thank you so much for the last minute booking. We have already booked our next stay in May next year! The Beach House always is very welcoming, comfortable and a glorious setting. Once again, thank you.'
'As me and my wife walked into The Beach House we were greeted with fresh flowers and beer. What a good start to the week, everything we need for our stay was in The Beach House, well done. My dog did not want to go back home, loved his walks. Thanks.'
'We’ve had a brilliant time at The Beach House. Beach walks have been fantastic also cliff walk to Dunbar. Weather good and we’ve visited lots of places. Thank you for your kind welcome and also the helpful tips you gave us. The chalet has been perfect and only wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks also for the beer and flowers.'
'Thank you so much for providing our welcoming and comfortable holiday accommodation. This was our second visit and whilst the weather has been much colder this week, we have had dry and bright sunny days and enjoyed lots of trips around this beautiful area. As before, the highlight for us is the stunning location of the Beach House with walks all around – our dog has been “living the dream”.'
'Good to be back at ‘our’ Beach House. We never tire of walking on the beach or along the cliff top to Dunbar, always stopping to watch the seals. We know we will be back.'
'Had a fantastic two weeks at The Beach House. Our third holiday and it didn’t disappoint us. As always beautifully clean and very comfortable. Weather very windy first week but improved the second, although it didn’t stop us doing what we wanted, especially walking our two dogs a lot on the beach. Hopefully we will return next year for two weeks again'.
'Almost eleven years since we last stayed in The Beach House. Hopefully won’t be as long until the next time. Still as comfortable and well equipped as we remembered and of course the outlook is still as great as ever, even when the weather turned nasty! Thanks for the great short break.'
