Isle of Lismore
Situated in Loch Linnhe, the fascinating Isle of Lismore can be reached by foot ferry from Port Appin or by car ferry from Oban. Inhabited since Neolithic times, it boasts a Pictish broch and ruined Viking Castle.
Lismore is also a geological anomaly and is home to some unique flora and fauna. Its one narrow road runs the length of the island and is ideal for cycling. With one small shop/PO and café in the Heritage centre it's a place where it really is possible to relax and forget everyday cares.
