Cultalla Cottage stands right on the shores of Loch Shiel, some 40 miles from Fort William on the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsula - a little slice of heaven indeed.

It is surrounded by its large, enclosed and secluded grass garden (with furniture), which is perfect for children to kick a ball and for pets. The hotel and little shops in the scattered crofting community of Acharacle are within an easy stroll. So you really can have it all - peace and quiet, but with amenities close at hand.
The cottage has been a real labour of love for the talented owner, who has given it a superb makeover. Light and airy, with loch views from the windows, it enjoys every modern comfort, from two wide-screen TVs, just in case there is a conflict of interest, to an iPod dock. Efficient oil central heating and a wood-burning stove which pumps out both warmth add to the atmosphere.
The L-shaped living area is very spacious and semi-open plan to the immaculate and well-equipped kitchen. Beyond that is a TV snug, shower room, three bedrooms and a further bathroom. The fine wooden flooring throughout is testament to the quality of this delightful holiday home.
Reached by a short, gated drive from the little single-track road, there is plenty of parking at the door and there is access to a jetty for canoes or kayaks.
Acharacle is a charming little community that is well placed for reaching the beach at Kentra (4 miles).
If you turn left at the north end of the village you can take the little road across the moss to where it ends at Arivegaig, marking the start of a wonderful walk round the shores of Kentra Bay to the Singing Sands. Alternatively, you can continue all the way to equally stunning and secluded beach at Ardtoe. Both of these have wonderful views across the water to Eigg, Rhum and Muck and are perfect for long lazy days in the sun, beach combing, canoeing or just relaxing.
You can head north to meet the 'Road to the Isles', which will take you to the silver sands of Morar, the excellent golf course at Traigh and on to Mallaig and the ferry to the Isle of Skye.
To the south from Salen (3 miles), you can head west to the tip of the peninsula and from Kilchoan you can catch a ferry to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, should you fancy a bit of island hopping.
Walkers can head off into the surrounding hills, fishing can be arranged locally or in the sea lochs. The quiet roads are just right for cycling and wildlife enthusiasts will find plenty to interest them, for this is a naturalist's paradise.
