In the bright, open plan living area floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors from the kitchen show off the view out to the large deck that is perfect for al fresco dining. The cosy sitting area focused around the stylish wood-burning stove is the ideal place to kick back and relax after a day’s exploring.
All on the same level are the three bedrooms that have direct access to the deck and spectacular loch views so that all guests can wake up to the light sparkling out on the loch. The attractively presented master bedroom has a king-size bed and en suite shower room, the second double bedroom also has a king-size bed and the twin bedroom’s zip-link beds can be converted to a super-king on request. The family bathroom is quite palatial, however it is very tempting to take advantage of the Dutch Tub outside and admire the spectacular sunset whilst soaking.
Detached and sitting in its own enclosed garden with a sheltered BBQ area to the rear, the cottage is only a short walk along the loch to the well-stocked, licenced village shop where, in season, fresh local prawns and langoustines are available.
Finished to a very high standard, Loch Ewe View will be cosy all year round with underfloor heating throughout and private parking outside for up to 3 cars. The cottage is accessed via a short but steep unsurfaced track so care should be taken, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
Less than a mile away is a gift shop and café where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or just treat yourself to a slice of cake. Further afield in Poolewe (6.5 miles) and Gairloch (12.5 miles) are a variety of hotels and restaurants offering an assortment of Highland fare.
The landscape of this part of the north west Highlands is awe inspiring and home to a wide variety of wildlife. Otters, seals and red deer are all common sightings, not to mention the vast array of birdlife that abounds all around.
Laide Wood (3 miles) is open all year round and has some pleasant forest walks to explore. On the other side of Laide village is The Ocean View Hotel that has a bar that is open to non-residents.
Clear, turquoise waters and a stunning white, sheltered sandy beach awaits at Mellon Udrigle (6 miles) and the three, pink sand beaches of Gruinard Bay (7 miles) are also well worth a visit. If you are brave enough to take to the water, canoe or kayak paddling adventures can be arranged via Ewe Canoe.
On the way to Poolewe is the National Trust for Scotland’s Inverewe Gardens where the micro-climate created by the gulf stream enables some amazing rare species of plants to thrive. A lucky few have even be fortunate enough to spot golden eagles during their visit!
Gairloch (12.5 miles) offers electric bike hire, pony trekking, glass bottomed boat cruises, paddle boarding and even canyoning. It also has an excellent 9 hole golf course and a rather unique museum set in a converted nuclear bunker.
