Overview

Everything has been thought of here in this stylish, modern house that guests are sure to love so much they won’t want to leave! The charming sitting room with its wood-burning stove is triple aspect so it is lovely and bright and further seating in the snug provides extra space to spread out into with glass doors that look out towards the pretty coastline.

The vast kitchen has been beautifully appointed with a large island to cook at, a traditional Belfast sink and a very elegant and spacious dining area at the other end of the room. Also on this level is a handy utility room that houses the laundry facilities neatly out of the way.

If there are to be any arguments amongst the party it may well be over who gets the master double bedroom that has wonderfully modern en suite shower room with a colourful feature wall and an enormous rainfall shower head. The other bedrooms are equally as attractive with two double rooms (one en suite) and a twin room to choose from, as well as a family bathroom with a bath and hand shower that is supplemented by the wet room downstairs. Full length windows in all of the bedrooms allow for the gorgeous views to be fully appreciated.

Outside the sloping grassed garden extends to around an acre and has a great outlook towards the Ornsay Lighthouse that was designed by David Stevenson.

Map & Local

Eilean Sionnaich, the small island that the lighthouse sits on can be walked out to when the tide is out for a closer look (making sure to check tide times first).

The friendly Am Praban bar within the Eilean Iarmain Hotel is just under a mile away so is easily walkable for an evening drink or a bar meal. There is also live traditional music on some nights and an open fire that provides a warm welcome.

By the hotel are a gallery and clothing boutique to have a look around and Gaelic Whiskies that is not a distillery as one might expect but a whisky tasting experience where fine malts can be sampled with the option to buy some to take home.

At An Crubh (1.5 miles) there is a general store/gift shop and a café that always makes a good pit stop or for further supermarket shopping head to Broadford (10 miles).

There is the chance to take to the water on one of the guided kayaking expeditions that South Skye Sea Kayak (6 miles) offer or bikes can be hired from South Skye Cycles (4 miles) in order to explore without having to bring your own along. Keep an eye out along the way for the amazing white-tailed sea eagles that can sometimes be spotted soaring overhead. They are the biggest bird of prey not only Scotland but, in fact, in the whole of the UK and are quite an impressive sight to behold.
