Nevis Ski Resort
The Nevis range centre has a great reputation among serious skiers. It offers skiing up to almost 4,000 feet on Aonach Mor, Scotland's eighth highest mountain, with the popular tourist town of Fort William just down the road with après-ski facilities. Of all Scottish resorts it enjoys the longest season - here skiing and boarding can continue well into spring.
The gondola which takes skiers, boarders, mountaineers and visitors 2,150 feet up to the base station is itself an experience and at the top there is the Snowgoose Restaurant, as well as an excellent area for beginners with a range of green and blue runs. There is also an artificial slope for times when snow is not so plentiful. Higher up the mountain there is a selection of red and black runs, together with a popular Boardwise terrain park. For really experienced skiers there is the opportunity to go off-piste, 'over the back', into the Back Corries.
For a change, you could also try other winter activities such as sledging, snowshoeing and even snow biking! The resort caters for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, with ski hire, ski schools and equipment hire available.
