Guests are greeted on arrival by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages immediate relaxation. As the cottage is laid out in an open plan style it is a really convivial space to spend some quality time together in. Whether it be preparing and enjoying meals or just unwinding in the evening watching a film with some popcorn, there is a place for everyone.
Chic furnishings have been used throughout, with the repurposed trunk coffee table being a particular highlight, and the large TV is cleverly built into the stylish wall storage.
The coombed ceilings in the two attractive bedrooms upstairs have roof windows to keep them nice and bright and allow the garden to be admired. They both make use of an elegant bathroom that has the choice of a soothing soak in the bath or the convenience of the shower over it.
From the large, gravelled parking area steps lead up to an entrance decking that is shared with sister property Weir Cottage alongside. Children and dogs within the party will love the enclosed grassed garden behind the house that is also used by Weir Cottage and Millers Cottage.
For those who like to bring their bike along with them, the West Loch Lomond cycle path passes through Luss and is only 17 miles long in total. It can be followed either way, to Balloch (9 miles) further down the loch or in a northerly direction up to Tarbet (8 miles).
As is to be expected in a lochside setting, there are a range of different boat trips that can be taken, some of which depart from Luss pier itself allowing some of the fascinating islands in the loch to be investigated.
There are plenty of munros within the National Park for those looking for a challenge and with the views of Ben Lomond being so evident all around, perhaps that should be first on the list? It is known as one of the easiest mountains to climb but still requires a good level of fitness, suitable clothing and sturdy footwear.
For a more leisurely walk, but one that is rewarded by stunning views from the summit, Conic Hill is just over half an hour’s drive away. The walk is part of the West Highland Way and is said to be one of the most enjoyable sections that only takes about an hour to get to the top.
Tee off on the wonderful 18 hole moorland golf course in Helensburgh (9 miles) by Loch Long from which beautiful views can be taken in towards the Isle of Arran in the distance. Whilst over there, it would be a real shame not to pay a visit to The Hill House, the famous house designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh that is a real architectural triumph.
