Canmore Cottage is a traditional stone cottage set in the picturesque village of Braemar in Royal Deeside in the Scottish Highlands. It has an ideal setting tucked away in this quiet village within strolling distance of the pub, with plenty to see and do in the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The light and bright sitting room has comfortable seating and a traditional stone fire surround with cosy wood-burning stove. There are traditional Scottish touches dotted around and even a window seat that provides additional seating.
The modern kitchen is sleek, contemporary and very well-equipped. From here a door leads out to the bright and airy dining sunroom. It is the perfect spot for a semi-al fresco breakfast or evening meal and has lovely views out over the charming garden.
All on one level there are three bedrooms, two doubles and a single room. The first pretty double bedroom has a king size bed and an attractive outlook out over the garden and the other double room has a delightful traditional wooden sleigh bed. The very spacious single bedroom is neat and comfy and looks out onto the garden.
A modern contemporary tiled shower room with large walk-in shower completes the indoor accommodation. As the cottage is all on one level it is particularly suitable for those with limited mobility.
Outside there is a pretty patio area (with furniture) that looks out onto the large, enclosed grassed garden. There is also a small front garden and parking is available on the quiet road in front of the cottage.
Braemar village, although small, is very well equipped with amenities including a shop, pub, hotel and restaurant, supermarket and PO. It has a gallery, visitor information centre and the Braemar Highland Heritage Centre which details the village's history.
There is also a golf course and bike rental so that you can make use of the many mountain biking trails that have been set up all around the village. You can fish on the famous River Dee and history enthusiasts will also enjoy visiting Kindrochit Castle and nearby Braemar Castle.
Braemar is particularly famous for the Braemar Gathering, an annual event that is held on the first Saturday of September each year. It is the biggest event in the highland games calendar and is held in the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park right in the village. The event involves traditional highland games including tossing the caber and also has traditional Scottish pipe music and dancing. The Queen herself is usually in attendance, along with the Duke of Edinburgh as the venue is near their residence at Balmoral.
Braemar is within the Cairngorms National Park where there are an abundance of activities including walking, climbing, cycling and water sports. It is also a haven for wildlife including many rare birds, otters, pine martens and even wild cats. In fact, 25% of the UK's endangered species can be found here!
You are also ideally placed for winter sports here as you are within easy reach of Scotland's most extensive ski resort Glenshee (9 miles). This 2,000 acre resort has skiing and snowboarding (with chair lifts), as well as ski lessons, a shop and equipment hire.
Just over an hour's drive away is the 'Granite City' Aberdeen (57 miles). Aberdeen has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as some interesting historical attractions and an airport.
