Easter Ross
In addition to the Black Isle, Easter Ross encompasses the peninsula on the other shore of the Cromarty Firth. Here you will find the town of Tain, the oldest Royal Burgh in Scotland and further distinguished by being the home of the Glenmorangie whisky distillery - surely a must see for whisky buffs!

So Much to See and Do
The countryside here is pleasing and much gentler than that of the west, whilst still offering excellent walking for those who prefer something less challenging. There are also pretty seaside villages such as Portmahomack and Rockfield to explore and miles of unspoilt sandy beaches. Inland, Dingwall is a bustling town and just a few miles further west is the elegant Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer, with its restored pump house and Pavilion and the nearby Rogie Falls.
