Strathpeffer
The Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer is set at the foot of Ben Wyvis, right in the heart of the Highlands and just half an hour’s drive from the bustling city of Inverness.
The area has become famous for its red kites following a successful RSPB re-introduction programme. They can be spotted in the skies with their distinctive notched tails or at the Tollies Red Kite Natural Reserve where feeding demonstrations allow visitors to admire them close up whilst learning more about these fascinating birds.
Bikes can be hired in Strathpeffer for exploring the area further or heading out to take in the impressive Rogie Falls waterfalls that have a suspension bridge that gives you the very best view.
