Overview

Comfort and cosiness are both on offer in the spacious sitting room that has a wood-burning stove at its heart. The large range cooker in the kitchen is an absolute joy to cook on and there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy meals together at the dining table. A neat utility area off the kitchen houses the laundry facilities.

For those with mobility issues the ground floor is very accessible as there is a ramp up to the rear entrance and a wet room that has been designed to allow for wheelchair access. A handy downstairs twin bedroom just opposite can be made use of to create an accessible ‘suite’ and there is also a family bathroom and reading/games room on this level.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms and two further twin rooms that have amazing panoramic views of the estate and the Glen Taitneach and Ben Gulabin mountains to admire from the windows.

Parking is right by the door and the lovely enclosed garden has beautiful lawns and lots of mature plants and trees.

Map & Local

If a meal out beckons, it is an easy walk to the Dalmunzie Castle Hotel (0.25 miles) for a drink and a spot of lunch or dinner with only a short stroll back afterwards.

In the winter months the first thing on the agenda is sure to be a visit to Glenshee (7 miles) for skiing/snowboarding or from June to September the chairlift is used to transport mountain bikers to the top of the mountain.

The Cateran Trail walking route passes nearby and is 64 miles in total with some stunning scenery to take in along the way. There is a ‘mini trail’ that is only 20 miles long for those looking to get a flavour of the route without completing the whole thing. Some brave people even take part in the Cateran Yomp event each year where teams attempt to complete 54 miles of the trail in under 24 hours!

For a very special day to remember pay a visit to Bowland Trails Huskies (25 miles) near Blairgowrie where a pack of Siberian racing huskies take you on a thrilling sled ride. This is done on snow if there is any but can actually be done at any time of the year.

Activities such as fishing, kayaking, canoeing and mountain biking can be arranged through Outdoor Explore in Alyth (20 miles) where equipment hire and lessons are also available.

Those with a love of the outdoors can try out one of the courses at the Scottish Woodland Skills Centre just outside Alyth where skills such as wood carving, charcoal making, whittling and willow weaving can all be learnt.
